EARTH AT NIGHT POSTER
This poster is beautiful, but it is also informative. One of the best ways to see where people are using the most energy is to look at our lights from space. The amount of light at a particular spot depends on the combination of how many people are present, and how much energy they are using. Notice how much brighter the United States is than China, which has three times as many people. The map also shows the glow of the moon on the deserts and ice fields of the world, as well as forest fires and even the lights from fishing fleets.
